Tips for a successful Roster Rocket Launch

The first step of the program is to share your plan with your team/group/organization. Let them know that their participation is needed to get the initial discount agreements and to sell the cards after they’re printed.

If you haven’t already, do this:

Collect Offers

We’ll email you the Discount Card Agreement. You’ll replace the highlighted areas with your group information and distribute copies to your designated team members who will visit the local businesses. Bring the agreements to any participating businesses. (In person or to email, just save as a PDF)

Ask local businesses to participate in your program. Emphasize that their participation costs nothing yet gains them terrific exposure to the local community. Have them sign the form and decide on a discount offer. That’s all they need to do!

Keep the Agreements on file for your records, to track what offers you have accepted. As you collect the offers, have one of your members type each offer on the Offer Tracking Spreadsheet. Proofread carefully and then when you have 15-30 offers, email it to Roster Rocket.

Choose your card design

When you have all your offers on the Spreadsheet it’s time to order the cards. At that point we’ll shoot you an email to remind you to go to our website and order cards. You’ll see our selection of professionally designed cards that can be customized with your team logo, colors and name. Note: A maximum of 18 offers will fill the back of the card and allow for a full graphic on the front of the card. If you have more offers (and good for you if you do!!) we’ll adjust the design so that the offers span the card front and back. (see layouts)

Within one week, you’ll review a PDF proof and sign off on the cards. And within 2-3 weeks, you’ll have your cards in your hands!

Once the cards are in your hands

Your group should all be present (if possible) at the kick-off. Each person in your group will be given their fundraising discount cards to sell at the kick-off. Let all members know about the prizes (cash incentives, gifts, pizza party etc.) you are offering for top sellers.

Let your nonprofit group know deadline / cut off date for discount card sales. Keep energy levels high — remind parents, teachers and members of the fundraiser’s goals and deadlines. Your group should audit your fundraiser weekly.

Do not forget to communicate with absentees who miss the kick-off.

Add up your profits!

Once you collect the money from card sales, and subtract the Roster Rocket costs, every dollar left is pure profit!
